9

B

18

C

27

D

54

The correct Answer is:
C

Let, the molecular formula of the chloride is `MCl_(x)` and at wt. of the element is a
` :. 9x +x xx 35.5= 58.5 xx 2(E = a//x) `
`x = ( 58.5 xx 2)/( 44.5) = 2.63`
The nearest whole no. of 2.63 = 3
`:.` approximate at wt. of the element `= 9 xx 3 = 27`
