Mitosis is the process where the division of cells occurs. In mitosis, cell number will increase. Mitosis is also known as equational division. During growth and repair of the cells, mitosis will occur.
During the formation of gametes meiosis will occur. Meiosis is also known as the reductional division where the ploidy of cells will be reduced.
