If A and B are the coefficients of x^n i...

If A and B are the coefficients of `x^n` in the expansion `(1 + x)^(2n)` and `(1 + x)^(2n-1)` respectively, then

A

1

B

2

C

`(1)/(2)`

D

`(1)/(n)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

Since, the coefficient of `x^(n)` in the expansion of `(1 + x)^(2n) " is " .^(2n)C_(n)`
`:. A = .^(2n)C_(n)`
Now, the coefficient of `x^(n)` in the expansion of `(1 + x)^(2n - 1) " is " .^(2n -1)C_(n)`.
`:. B = .^(2n - 1)C_(n)`
Now, `(A)/(B) = (.^(2n)C_(n))/(.^(2n - 1)C_(n)) = (2)/(1) = 2`
