Find the equation of the line passing th...

Find the equation of the line passing through the point `(5,2)` and perpendicular to the line joining the points (2,3) and (3,-1).

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
N/a

Consider the given points A(5,2),B(2,3)and C(3,-1).
Slope of the line passing through the points B and C, `m_(BC)=(-1-3)/(3-2)=-4`
So, the slope of required line is `(1)/(4)`
Since, the equation of a line passing the point A(5,2 )and having slope `(1)/(4)` is `y-2=(1)/(4)(x-5)`.
`rArr 4y-8=x-5`
`rArr x-4y+=0`
