If `a , b` and `c` are in `A P ,` then the straight line `a x+b y+c=0` will always pass through a fixed point whose coordinates are______

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
N/a

Given line is `ax+by+c=0`........(i)
Since, a,b, and c are in AP, then `b=(a+c)/(2)`
`rArra-2b+c=0` ........(ii)
On comparing Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get
`x=1,y=2` [using value of b in Eq. (i)]
So, (1,-2) lies on the line.
