The equation of normal to the curve y=tanx at (0,0) is ………………..

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The equation of normal to the curve y= tan x at (0,0) is x+y=0.
`y=tanx rArr (dy)/(dx)= sec^(2)x`
`rArr (dy)/(dx)_(0,0)= sec^(2)0=1` and `-1/((dy)/(dx))=-1/1`
`therefore` Equation of normal to the curve `y=tanx` at `(0,0)` is
`y-0=-1(x-0)`
`rArr y+x=0`
