In five kingdom system of classification, kingdom- Monera includes following I. Archaebacteria II. Eubacteria III. blue-green algae IV. green algae

True or False type questions : (i) Two-kingdom classification is the oldest and was proposed by Robert H. Whittaker in 1969. (ii) Euglena is a unicellular organism which has both animal and plant features. (iii) Bacteria and fungi are called decomposers or reducers. (iv) Liverworts and masses belong to the kingdom plantae. (v) Genetic material in eukaryotes is circular, double-stranded, helical DNA, not enclosed by a nuclear envelope. (vi) Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) are the photosynthetic monerans.

Which statement (s) is/are not true for the five-kingdom classification proposed by R.H. Whittaker (1969)? (a) The main criteria for classification include cell structure, thallus organization, mode of nutrition, reproductions, and phylogenetic relationship. (b) All prokaryotic organisms such as bacteria, blue-green algae, and ferns are grouped together under kingdom monera. (c) Chlamydomonas, chlorella, and spirogyra are placed in Algae within plants due to the presence of the cell well. (d) Fungi are placed in a separate kingdom: Kingdom fungi. (e) Paramecium and Amoeba are placed in the animal kingdom due to lack of cell wall.

Read the following statements and select the correct ones:br (a) Anabaena is included under kingdom Monera, br (b) Nostoc is a filamentous blue green alga,br (c) Cyanobacteria perfom, oxygenic photosynthesis & they can have nitrogenase,br (c) Cyanobacteria perfom, oxygenic photosynthesis & they can have nitrogenase.

Twelve people are sitting in two parallel rows containing six people each such that they are equidistant from each other. In row 1: P,Q,R, S, T and V are seated and all of them are facing South. In row 2: A, B, C, D, E and F are seated and all of them are facing North. Therefore, in the given seating arrangement, each member seated in a row faces another member of the other row. S sits third to the right of Q. Either S or Q sits at an extreme end of the line. The one who faces Sits second to the right of E. Two people sit between B and F. Neither B nor F sits at an extreme end of the line. The immediate neighbour of B faces the person who sits third to the left of P. R and T are immediate neighbours. C sits second to the left of A. T does not face the immediate neighbour of D. Four of the following five are alike in a certain way based on the given arrangement and so form a group. Which is the one that does not belong to that group ?

Study the following information carefully and answer the given questions based on it The English alphabet is categorised into five groups, each starting with a vowel and encompassing the immediately following consonants in the group. Thus group one consists of A, B, C and D, group two consists of E, F,G and H, group three consists of 1, J, K, L, M and N, group four consists of O, P, Q,R, S and T, and the remaining letters make group five. These groups are assigned values as 10 for each letter of first group, 20 for each letter of second group, 30 for each letter of third group, 40 for each letter of fourth group, and 50 for each letter of group five. When used to form words, the value of each letter should be added up to compute the value of the word. If the word has letters only from the same group the value of the word would be the value of the sum of letters. However, if the letters in a word are from difierent groups, the value of the first letter of the word and any other letter of that group will be the same as that of its individual letter value of its group, but that of a letter from another group will be 'double’ as much as the value of each letter of its group. If we have to find the value of MANGO, its first letter is M (from third group), among A, N, G and O, N is also from third group. Hence value of M + N = 30 + 30 = 60 Now A, G and O belong to first, second and the fourth group respectively. Hence value of A + G + O = double the value of A + double the value of G + double the value of O = 2*10 + 2*20 + 2* 40 = 140. Hence, total value = 140+600 = 200.which one or two or three of the words denoted by A, B and C correspond to the given value. 180 (A)FIVE (B)WEEK (C)PORT 1) A and B only 2) B and C only 3) A and C only 4) All the three 5) None of these
