Three vessels A,B,and C of different shapes contain a water upto the same height as shown in the figure .`P_(A) ,P_(B)` ,and `P_(C)` be the pressure exerted by the water at the bottom of the vessels A ,B and C respectively . Then

A

`P_(A) gt P_(B) gt P_(C)`

B

`P_(B) gt P_(C) gt P_(A)`

C

`P_(C) gt P_(B) gt P_(A)`

D

`P_(A) = P_(B) =P_(C)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

Pressure=`hrhog`
Pressure at the bottom is idenpendent of the area of the base of vessel. It depends on the height of water upto vessels, level is filled with water. As in all the three vessels, level of water are the same, therefore pressure at the bottom in all the vessels is also the same.
Hence, `P_(A)=P_(B)=P_(C)`
