(3) In unicellular organisms, the mitotic cell divisions form the entire organisms.
(4) Mitotic division is essential for all types of asexual reproductions.
(5) In sexually reproducing organisms meiotic cell division helps in formation of gametes with haploid number of chromosmes to form zygote at the time of fertilization.
(6) Zygote further divides by mitosis again and grows into an embryo and then to offspring.
(7) Thus both mitotic and metotic cell division play a key role in perpetuation of life . Without cell division, there is no perpetuation of life.
