Write about layering. Give example.

Explanation

(1) Stems that from roots while attached to the parent plants are called layers . Propagating the plants in this method is layering.
(2) A branch of the plant with at least one node is bent towards the ground and a part of it is covered with moist soil leaving the tip of the branch exposed above the ground.
(3) After sometime, new roots develop from the part of the branch burried in the soil.
(4) The branch is then cut off from the parent plant , later in develops roots and grows to becomes a new plant. Ex: Nerium.
