The gardener removes all the species of plants that grow in the lawn from time to time.
Farmer does the same thing on his farm. But the variation is all the plants are removed from lawn just for pleasant look whereas farmer remove only weed plants that complete with the crop plants for space, nutrients, water and sunlight. This is to increase the productivity of crop plants.
