The density of salt solution is `1.13g cm^(-3)` at 298 K. The solution contains 17.0 % sodium chloride. What volume of solution will contain 38.42 g of NaCl?

A

`255.38 cm^(3)`

B

`200 cm^(3)`

C

`578 cm^(3)`

D

None of these

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
B

Let mass of solution = xg
17.0% of x = 38.42g
`x = (38.42gxx100)/(17) = 226g`
`226 g = 226gxx(1cm^(3))/(1.13g) = 200cm^(3)`
