The order of decreasing reactivity towards an electrphilic reagent for the following,
(i). Benzene
(ii). Toluene.
(iii). Chlorobenzoic acid.
(iv). Phenol. Would.

A

`iv gt ii gt i gt iii`

B

`i gt ii gt iii gt iv`

C

`ii gt ii gt i gt iii`

D

The correct Answer is:
A

Due to resonance C-Br bond in vinyl bromide has some double bond character and hence is more strongly held than in alkyl bromides.

Hence dehydrobromination of alkyl bromides occurs smoothly with alcoholic KOH but to remove HBr from vinyl bromide, stronger base like `NaNH_(2)` in liq. `NH_(2)` required
