Since endocyclic (with in the ring) double bond (as in radical II) is more stable than exocyclic (outside ring) double bond (as in radical I) Therefore, initially formed less satable radial (I) gets converted into the more stable free radical (II) which then reacts with `Br_(2)` to given the product.
