Step I . Calculation of frequency of yellow light
We know that `v=(c)/(lambda)`
`c=3 xx10^(8) ms^(-1) , lambda = 580 nm = 580 xx 10^(-9) m`
`:. " " v=((3xx10^(8) ms^(-1)))/((580 xx 10^(-9)m))=5.17 xx 10^(14) s^(-1)`
Step II. Calculation of wave number of yellow light
Wave number `(bar(v))=(1)/(lambda) = (1)/((580 xx 10^(-9)m))=1.724 xx 10^(6)m^(-1)`.
