The pH of a solution obtained by mixing ...

The pH of a solution obtained by mixing 60 mL of 0.1 M NaOH solution and 40 mL of 0.15 MHCI solution is :

A

10

B

12

C

2

D

7

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

No. of millimoles of `NaOH =60 xx 0.1 =6`
No. of millimoles of `HCI =40 xx0.15 =6`
Since the no. of millimoles of `NaOH" and " HCI` are equal the solution upon mixing is neutral . Its pH is 7.
