A b ox contains some identical red coloured balls. Labelleda as A, each weighing 2g. Another box contains identicla blue coloured balls. Labelled as B, each weighing 5g. Consider combination AB,`AB_(2),A_(2)B` and `A_(2)B_(3)` and show that law of multiple proportions is applicable.

Let us fix 2 grams by weight of A as the fixed weight in all these compounds. Now let us find the weights of B with which this fixed weight combine in diferent compounds that are listed
`{:("Compounds","Weight of A in grams","Weight of B in Grams","Fixed weight of A in grams","Weights of B combining with 2 grams of A"),("AB",2,5,2,5),("AB"_(2),2,10,2,10),("A"_(2)"B",4,5,2,5//2),("A"_(2)"B"_(3),4,15,2,15//2):}`
The ratios of the weights of B in the different compounds which combine with fixed weight of A (2 grams)
`55:10:5//2:15//2or 10:20:5:15or 2:4:1:3`
This is a simple whole number ratio and illustrats the law of multiple proportions.
