The compound `AgF_(2)` is an unstable compound. However, if formed, the compound acts as a strong oxidising agent. Why?

In suphur dioxide `(SO_(2))` and hyudrogen peroxide `(H_(2)O_(2))`, the oxidation states of sulphur and oxygen are +4 and -1 respectively. Since thgey can incrase as well as decrease when these copmpound take part in chemical reacions they can act as oxid `AgF_(2)` the oxidation state of silvere is + 2e.e excits as `Ag^(2+)` ion .This is quite unstable since the normal stable oxidation state of the metal is +1 or it exists as `Ag^(+)` ion.This means that if the compound `AgF_(2)` be formed, it will undergo reduction by the gain of electrons.It is therefore, a very strong oxidising agent
