For drying `H_(2)S` gas concentrated `H_(2)SO_(4)` can not be used why ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

On passing `H_(2)S` gas through a solution of `SO_(2),` oxidiation of `H_(2)S` occurs. The particles of sulphur that arre formed get condensed to be in the colloidal range. Therefore, the milky solution contains colloidal particales of sulphur.
