Adsorption is a surface phenomenon. As more and more the surface of the adsorbent gets occupied or covered, the extent of adsorption decreases. On the other hand, sbsorption occurs throughout the body of the absorbent. Therefore. It is not related the surface and proceeds at a uniform rate.
