Wasshing soda `(Na_(2)CO_(3))` gets hydrolysed to form NaOH as folows :
`" "Na_(2)CO_(3)+H_(2)Ooverset(("boil"))rarr2NaOH+CO_(2)`
NaOH reacts ith fat which is a triglyceride to form soap and glycerol by saponification reaction. The soap formed helps in cleaning the pan.
