Why is `N_(2)` less reactive at room temperature ?

In the nitrogen molecule `(N_(2))`, two atoms of nitrogen are linked by triple bond (N=N). Due to small atomic size of the element (atomic radius=70 pm), the bond dissociation enthalpy is very high `(946 " kJ mol"^(-1))`. This means that it is quite difficult to cleave or break the triple bond at room temperature. As a result. `N_(2)` is less reactive at room temperature.
