The central atom (E ) in all the hydrides is `sp^(3)` hybridised. However, its electronegativity decreases and atomic size increases down the group. As a result, there is a gradual decrease in the force of repulsion in the shared electron pairs around the central atom. This leads to decrease in the bond angle.
