(i) `K_(2)Cr_(2)O_(7)` oxidises `H_(2)S` to a sulphur (yellow ppt.) in the acidic medium.
`K_(2)Cr_(2)O_(7)+4H_(2)SO_(4)+3H_(2)S to K_(2)SO_(4) +Cr_(2)(SO_(4)_(3)+7H_(2)O+3S`
(ii) `KMnO_(4)` oxidises KI to `KIO_(3)` in the basic medium.
`2KMnO_(4)+KI+H_(2)O to 2MnO_(2)+2KOH+KIO_(3)`.
