The ammonia prepared by treating ammoniu...

The ammonia prepared by treating ammonium sulphate with calcium hydroxide is completely used by `"NiCl"_(2).6H_(2)O` to form a stable coordination compound. Assume that both the reactions are `100%` complete. If 1584 g of ammonium sulphate and 952 g of `"NiCl"_(2).6H_(2)O` are used in the preparation, the combined weight (in grams) of gypsum and the nickel- ammonia coordination compound thus produced is ____.
(Atomic weights in g` "mol"^(-1)` : H = 1, N = 14, O = 16, S = 32, Cl = 35.5, Ca = 40, Ni = 59)

The chemical reaction involved as follows :

Mass of `(NH_4)_(2)SO_4` reacted = 1584 g
No of moles of `(NH_4)_2` reacted = (1584 l ) / (132 g ) = 12 mol .
No of moles of Gypsum formed = 12 mol
Total mass of Gypsum formed =`12 xx 172 `= 2064 g
Moles of `NH_3` released = 24 mol
Total moles of complex formed = 24 / 6 = 4 mol
Mass of the complex = 232 g
Total mass of complex formed = `232 xx 4 ` = 928 g
`Total mass of Gypsum and the complex formed = 2064 + 928 = 2992 g
