A particle starts from origin at time t=0 and moves in positive x-direction. Its velocity v varies with times as `v = 10that(i)` cm/s. The distance covered by the particle in 8 s will be

A

320 cm

B

80 cm

C

120 cm

D

640 cm

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Given that, `t = 0, v = 10t hat(i)" "cm//s`
So, acceleration, `a = (dv)/(dt)= 10 hat(i) " "cm//s`
According to second equation of motion
`s = ut + (1)/(2)at^(2)`
`therefore u = 0`
`rArr s = 1 // 2 xx 10 xx(8)^(2)= 320`
s = 320 cm
