3 cartilages found unpaired (thyroid, epiglottis and cricoid cartilage) and 3 are paired (arytenoid, cuneiform and comiculate cartilages).
Thyroid cartilage is the largest cartilage of larynx. The mid-ventral projection of thyroid cartilage form Adam's apple (Laryngeal Prominence).
Larynx contains vocal cords which are the sound producing elastic fibres. In women and children voice is high-pitched while in men voice is low-pitched.
