An impairment affecting synthesis or release of ADH results in a diminished ability of the kidney to conserve water leading to water loss & dehydration. This condition is known as Diabetes Insipidus. Absence of ADH reduces the reabsorption of water in DCT causing dilute and increased urine.
In ADH deficiency volume of urine increase.
Volume of urine is regulated by ADH & aldosterone. The problem of increased urination is called diuresis.
