Balanced chemiacl equations often leads to incorrect order or rate law e.g., the following reaction seems to be tenth order reaction
`KCIO_(3) + 6 FeSO_(4) + 3H_(2) SO_(4) to KCl + 3H_(2)O + 3Fe_(2) (SO_(4))_(3)`
This is actually a second order reaction. Actually the reaction is complex and occurs in serveral steps. The order of such is determined by the slowest in the reactions mechanism.
Order is determined and is confined to the depends of observed rate of reactions on the concentration of reactions.
