From the following displacement-time graph find out the velocity of a moving body.

A

`(1)/(sqrt(3))ms^(-1)`

B

`3ms^(-1)`

C

`sqrt(3)ms^(-1)`

D

`(1)/(3)ms^(-1)`

The correct Answer is:
C

In first instant, you will apply `upsilon=tan theta` and say
`upsilon = tan 30^(@)=(1)/(sqrt(3))ms^(-1)`
But it is wrong because formula `upsilon = tan theta` is valid angle is measured with time axis. Here angle is taken from displacement axis. So, angle from time axis `= 90^(@)-30^(@)=60^(@)`
Now `upsilon= tan 60^(@)=sqrt(3) ms^(-1)`
