A ball is thrown vertically upwards from...

A ball is thrown vertically upwards from the ground with a speed of `25.2 ms^(-1)`. How long does it take to reach its highest point and how high does it rise ? (Take `g=9.8 ms^(-2)`)

A

`2.75s, 3.24 m`

B

`25.7s, 34.2 m`

C

`2.57s, 32.4 m`

D

`27.5s, 3.42 m`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C

Given, upward velocity of ball `= 25.2 ms^(-1)` Height attained by the ball
`H=(u^(2))/(2g)=(25.2xx25.2)/(2xx9.8)=32.4m`
Now, time taken by the ball to attain `32.4 m` is
`t=(u)/(g)=(25.2)/(9.8)=2.57s`
