A ball of mass `1kg` hangs in equilibrium from two strings as shown in If `g = 10m//s^(2)` what are the valuse of tension in strings `OA` and `OB`
.

A

5 N,5 N

B

`5sqrt(3)N,5sqrt(3)N`

C

`5 N,5sqrt(3)N`

D

`5sqrt(3)N,5N`

The correct Answer is:
C

( c) Apply Lami's theorem at O
`(T_(1))/(sin 150^(@))=(T_(2))/( sin 120^(@))`
`=(10)/( sin 90^(@))=(10)/(1)=10`
`therefore T_(1)=10 sin 150^(@)=10xx(1)/(2)=5N`
`T_(2)=10 sin 120^(@)=10xx(sqrt(3))/(2)=5sqrt(3)N`
