A faulty thermometer has its fixed points marked as `5^(@)` and `95^(@)`. The temperature of a bady as measured by the faulty therature is `59^(@)`. Find the correct temperature of the body on Celsisus scale.

Let `theta_(0)` be the lower fixed point of the faulty scale and n be the number of division between its lower and the upper fixed points. If a temperature C on celsius scale corresponds to temperature `theta` on the scale of faulty scale, then
`(C-0)/(100)=(theta-theta_(0))/(n)`
Here.`theta_(0)=5^(@),n=95-5=90` and `theta=59^(@)` Therfore, the Eq. (i) becomes
`C=(54)/(90)xx100=60^(@)C`
