van der Waals' gas equation for n mole of real gas
`(p+(n^(2)a)/(V_(2)))(V-nb)=nRT`
`P+(N^(2)a)/(V_(2))=(nRT)/(V-nb)`
`therefore" " p=((nRT)/(V-nb))-(n_(2)a)/(V_(2))`
Given equation, `" " p=((RT)/(2V-b)-a/(4b^(2)))` On comparing the given equation with this standard equation, we get,`" " n=1//2`
Hence `" " n=m/M`
`rArr` mass of gas,m `=nM1/2xx44=22g`

The equation of state for real gas is given by ((p + (a)/(V^(2))(V - b) = RT . The dimension of the constant a is ………………. .

At pressure P and absolute temperature T a mass M of an ideal gas fills a closed container of volume V. An additional mass 2M of the same gas is added into the container and the volume is then reduced to V/3 and the temperature to T/3 . The pressure of the gas will now be:

Two adiabatic containers have volumes V_(1) and V_(2) respectively. The first container has monoatomic gas at pressure p_(1) and temperature T_(1) . The second container has another monoatomic gas at pressure p_(2) and temperature T_(2) . When the two containers are connected by a narrow tube, the final temperature and pressure of the gases in the containers are P and T respectively. Then

The equation of a state of a real gas is given by (P + (a)/(V^(2))) (V - b) = RT , where T is absolute temperature, P is pressure, V is volume and R is universal gas constant. What are the dimensions of constant a and b ?
