The log - log graph between the energy E...

The log - log graph between the energy `E` of an electron and its de - Broglie wavelength `lambda` will be

A

B

C

D

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C

As we know that, wavelength of a particle
`lambda=h/(sqrt(2mE))=h/(sqrt(2m)).1/(sqrt(E)) rArr log lambda=log(h/(sqrt(2m)).1/sqrt(E))`
`rArr log lambda = logh/sqrt(2m) + log 1/E^(1//2)`
`rArr loglambda=log(h/sqrt(2m))-1/2logE`
`rArr loglambda=-1/2logE+logh/sqrt(2m)`
So, equation of straight line is y=mx +c
This is equation of line with slope `-1/2`
