At which point should the origin be shifted so that co-ordinates of point `(2,5)` become `(1,-4)` ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let required point be `(h, k)`
Here `x=2`, `y=5`, `X=1`, `Y=-4`
Now, `x=X+h` and `y=Y+k`
`implies 2=1+h` and `5=-+k`
`implies h=1` and `k=9`
` :. "Origin will be shifted to the point" (1,9)`
