Find the angle between the line joining ...

Find the angle between the line joining the points `(-1,3)` and `(-2,4)` and `X`-axis.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The slope of line joining the points `(-1,3)` and `(-2,4)` is
`m=(4-3)/(-2-(-1))=-1`
If straight line makes an angle `theta` from `X`-axis, then
`tantheta=m=-1`
`=-tan45^(@)`
`=tan(180^(@)-45^(@))`
`implies theta=135^(@)`.
