Find the equation of lines drawn parallel to co-ordinate axes and passing through the point `(-1,4)`.

Equation of a line parallel to `X`-axis
`y=k` ……`(1)`
It passes through the point `(-1,4)`
`:. 4=k`.
`:. ` From eq. `(1)`
Equation of required line parallel to `X`-axis is `y=4`.
Again equation of line parallel to `Y`-axis
`x=h`......`(2)`
It passes through `(-1,4)`.
`:. -1=h`
`:.` From eq. `(2)`
Equation of required line parallel to `Y`-axis `x=-1`.
