Find the equation of the sides of DeltaA...

Find the equation of the sides of `DeltaABC` whose vertices are `A(2,-3)`, `B(0,1)` and `C(4,2)`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Equation of `AB`
`y-(-3)=(1-(-3))/(0-2)(x-2)`
`implies y+3=-2(x-2)`
`implies y+3=-2x+4`
`implies 2x+y=1`
Equation of `BC`
`y-1=(2-1)/(4-0)(x-0)`
`implies 4y-4=x-0`
`implies x-4y+4=0`
and equation of `CA`
`y-2=-(-3-2)/(2-4)(x-4)`
`implies y-2=(5)/(2)(x-4)`
`implies 2y-4=5x-20`
`implies 5x-2y=16`
Therefore, the equation of the sides of `DeltaABC` are `2x+y=1`, `x-4y+4=0` and `5x-2y=16`.
