Find the angle between the following pairs of lines :
`(i) x+2y-1=0` and `2x-y+3=0`
`(ii) y=5x+1` and `y=-3x+2`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`3x+2y=8` ………`(1)`
`5x-3y=7`……..`(2)`
Multiplying eq. `(1)` by `3` and eq. `(2)` by `2` and adding
`overset(ul({:(9x+6y=24),(10x-6y=14):}))(19x=38)`
`implies x=2`
Put `x=2` in equation `(1)`
`3(2)+2y=8`
`impliesy=1`
Therefore, the point of intersection `=(2,1)`
