Find the equation of the line which satisfy the given conditions : Perpendicular distance from the origin is 5 units and the angle made by the perpendicular with the positive x-axis is `30^@` .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here, `alpha=30^(@)` and `p=5`
`:.` Equation of line is
`x cos alpha+y sin alpha=p`
`implies x cos 30^(@)+y sin 30^(@)=5`
`implies(xsqrt(3))/(2)+(y)/(2)=5`
`implies xsqrt(3)+y=10`
