Reduce the following equations into slop...

Reduce the following equations into slope intercept form and find their slopes and the y intercepts.(i) `x + 7y = 0`, (ii) `6x + 3y 5 = 0`, (iii) `y =0`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`(i) x+7y=0`
`implies 7y=-x`
`implies y=-(1)/(7)x+0`
Comparing with `y=mx+c`,
Slope `m=-(1)/(7)` and `y`-intercept `=0`
`(ii) 6x+3y-5=0`
`implies 3y=-6x+5`
`implies y=-2x+(5)/(3)`
Comparing with `y=mx+c`,
Slope `m=-2` and `y`-intercept `=(5)/(3)`
`(iii) y=0`
`impliesy=0*x+0`
Comparing with `y=mx+c`,
Slope `m=0` and `y-` intercept `=0`
