The displacement equation of a particle...

The displacement equation of a particle executing S.H.M is given by `y=0.01 sin pi(t+0.005)m`. Calculate the maximum velocity and displacement at the time of start of the motion.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given,`" "y=0.01 sin pi(t+0.005)m.`
velocity of the particle is given by
`v=(0.01)pi cos pi(t+0.005)ms^(-1)`
`"i.e. "v=0.0314 cos pi(t+0.005)ms^(-1)`
Here`" "v_("max")=0.314ms^(-1) and v` being instantaneous velocity of the particle.
Putting`" "t=0` in y(t) we get
`y=0.01 sin pi(0+0.005)m`
`y=0.01 sin (0.005pi)`
`=0.01xx0.0017`
`y=1.7xx10^(-5)m`.
