Calculate (Cp)/(Cv) for monatomic gas....

Calculate `(C_p)/(C_v)` for monatomic gas.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`C_(p)/(C_(v))=gamma = 1+ 2/f`
where f=3 for monatomic gas
Hence `gamma= 1+ 2/f= 1+0.667`
i.e `gamma` = 1.667 Hence `C_(p)/C_(v)` for monatomic gas =1.667
