Find the (a) maximum frequency and (b) minimum wavelength of X- rays produced by 30 kV electrons.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Using `hv = eV`
we write `v= (eV)/h=(1.6xx10^(-19)xx3xx10^(4))/(6.025xx10^(-34))`
Maximum frequency of X- radiation `= v = 7. 245 xx 10^(18)` Hz
and minimum wavelength `lambda= c/v=(3xx10^(8))/(7.45xx10^(18))`
`lambda= 0.414xx10^(-10)m or lambda = 0.014 nm`
