Define the term angle of deviation....

Define the term angle of deviation.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The difference between the angle of incidence in a medium (1) and the angle of refraction in a medium (2) is known as the angle of deviation. If i > r then d = i - r.
If i < r then d = r - i.
In general, angle of deviation `=d=i~r`
