Briefly explain the types of physical quantities.

There are two types of physical quantities. They are fundamental and derived quantities.
Fundamental quantities are quantities that cannot be expressed in terms of any other physical quantities. Eg: Quantities like length, mass, time, electric current, temperature, luminous intensity the amount of substance.
Derived quantities are quantities that can be expressed in terms of fundamental quantities. Eg: Quantities like area, volume, velocity, acceleration, force.
