A car starting from rest covers a distance of 100 m in 5 second . Assuming his acceleration is uniform .
Calculate its velocity at the end of 5 sec .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given date : Initial velocity
u = 0
Distance travelled
s = 100 m
time t = 5s
We know that
`s = ut +(1)/(2) at^(2)`
` 100 = 0 +(1)/(2) a xx 5^(2) = (25a)/(2)`
`:. a = (100 xx2)/( 25) = 8 m//s^(2)`
Velocity at the end 5 seconds is
v = u + at
