A man weighing 60 kg climbs up a staircase carrying a 20 kg load on his head. The staircase has 20 steps and each step has a height of 20 cm . If he takes 10 sec to climb his power will be _________ (g = 9.8 `"ms"^(-2))`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`m=60+20=80kg`
`h=20xx0.2=4m`
`g=9.8ms^(-2),t=10s`
Power `P=(W)/(t)=(mgh)/(t)=(80xx9.8xx4)/(10)`
`=(3136)/(10)=313.6W`

A light rope fixed at one end of a wooden clamp on the ground passes over a tree branch and hangs on the other side. It makes an angle of 30^0 with the ground. A man weighing (60 kg) wants to climb up the rope. The wooden clamp can come out of the ground if an upward force greater than 360 N is applied it.
