How is the force acting on a simple pendulum resolved ?

The force is resolved into two components.
The force is resolved into two components.
(i) The componet `mg cos theta` is balanced by the tension in the thread acting along the length towards the fixed point O.
(ii) `mg sin theta` which is unbalanced, acts perpendicular to the length of thread.
